Lee Fields & The Expressions - Ladies

I just love to see you walk / Girls I love your style / I love to hear you talk / Girls you make me smile / And when you pass me by, you’re like candy to my eyes / You’re sugar / You’re spice and everything nice / A man is incomplete without a lady in his life / You can take a bad day and make it turn out right / You can take a blind soul and make him see the light / You can take a broken heart and make it new again / Or you can break his heart and make him less than a man / You can make a man feel like a king.

Let me hear you say ladies / Beautiful ladies / Lovely ladies / You’re so fine, so fine.

"I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace."

I’m finding myself growing a little more insecure physically and emotionally everyday. I’ve been going to the gym at least 4-5 days a week, and I will come home still unsatisfied. I’ll lay in bed and thoughts of imperfections will replay in my head until my body shuts down. I know I’m a strong woman, I have my head on strait, and I’m a pretty good catch… but that never seems like enough to me. Are most women like this? Why can’t I be satisfied with myself?

When I start to think about it, I was a late bloomer. My friends would get all the attention from guys, was always asked to dances (the ones I’ve gone to, I always asked the guy), and had their first boyfriend in High School. I’ve had two boyfriends, and both ended up destroying my self-esteem. When my last relationship ended (one reason was him simply not being attracted to me anymore), that insecure, lonely girl from high school started to emerge. I can’t believe something said as simple as that could fracture years of rebuilding yourself. Maybe I’m not as strong as I make myself out to be.

Whenever you get the chance, tell someone in your life, whether it be your friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, your brother/sister, or your father/mother, that he/she is a beautiful person inside and out. It will have a much bigger affect than you can ever imagine.

This is my work station:

Computer (http://start.io/sophinie)
Wacom
External hard drive
Pens/pencils
Munny doll
Pictures and letters from friends
Post-it’s
iHome
Coca-Cola money bank
DVD’s

Hopefully within the next week, I will have a new pretty white desk, twice the size of this one so I can fit everything without feeling so cluttered. What’s on your desk?

foodandliquor:

It’s important to be grateful for everything in your life. Many people focus on one thing they want and forget to be grateful for all the things they have. Without gratitude you can’t achieve anything, because if you’re not emanating gratitude, then by default you’re emanating ungratefulness. Be proactive… and use the frequency of your being to receive what you want.

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.

Anonymous asked: Nice eyeliner! What kind do you use? And what are your fave brands for makeup?

For eyeliner, I only use Loreal liquid in Carbon Black (slim bottle, gold cap)… Sadly they discontinued it in most stores except for Walgreens. I stocked up on it, haha. My favorite brands are Urban Decay, Mac, Chanel & YSL. SO LEGIT.

Dwele - Fantasy Girl

I love your ways you’re like no one I’ve ever met before / I think it’s called ecstasy, the way I feel when you’re with me / I can’t believe that this is real / Can’t believe this is happening, fact that you are here with me / You’re mine if only for one night / Your touch is that of paradise / And this is real / Now dim the lights, lets make things smooth / You make fantasies real…
